Consumer Driven Benefits & COBRA Administration Services
Position Summary
The Account Processor is responsible for providing high-quality customer service and administrative support for Consumer Driven Benefits (CDB) and COBRA administration services. This role serves as a primary point of contact for participants & members, and assists with responding to inquiries, processing claims, maintaining accurate account records, and performing data entry activities.
The Account Processor works closely with the Account Administrator and Service Manager to ensure the timely and accurate administration of benefit plans while delivering an exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Member Support
Answer incoming calls and respond to employee and participant inquiries regarding Consumer Driven Benefits and COBRA programs.
Provide accurate information regarding account balances, claim status, eligibility, enrollments, reimbursements, and plan provisions.
Research and resolve participant issues in a professional and timely manner.
Document customer interactions and maintain detailed account notes.
Escalate complex issues to the Account Administrator or Service Manager as appropriate.
Claims Processing
Review and process benefit claims according to established policies, procedures, and plan guidelines.
Verify claim documentation for accuracy, completeness, and eligibility.
Ensure timely adjudication and reimbursement of approved claims.
Identify discrepancies and work with participants, providers, or internal teams to obtain required information.
Maintain confidentiality and compliance with all applicable regulations.
Data Entry & Account Maintenance
Perform accurate data entry for enrollments, terminations, benefit elections, claim information, and account updates.
Maintain participant records and ensure data integrity across administrative systems.
Process account changes and updates in accordance with established service standards.
Audit and verify information to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Administrative Support
Support the Account Administrator with day-to-day account management activities.
Assist the Service Manager with operational tasks, reporting, and client service initiatives.
Prepare and distribute correspondence, documentation, and reports as needed.
Participate in quality assurance activities and process improvement initiatives.
Assist with special projects and additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous experience in customer service, benefits administration, claims processing, healthcare administration, or related fields preferred.
Experience with Consumer Driven Benefits, Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), Health Savings Accounts (HSA), Health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRA), or COBRA administration is a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively, with the appropriate sense of urgency.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Strong data entry and keyboarding skills with a high degree of accuracy.
Ability to analyze information and resolve problems independently.
Knowledge of benefit administration and claims processing procedures preferred.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
Physical Requirements
Ability to remain seated and work at a computer for extended periods.
Ability to communicate effectively by phone and email.
